CalRHA Kills Bill Mandating Pets (AB 2216)

Great news! CalRHA and our allies have successfully defeated AB 2216, which would have required rental housing providers to accept pets.

While some industry associations took a neutral position, CalRHA continued to lobby the bill ultimately resulting in the author’s withdrawal of the bill for this legislative session.

Thanks to the efforts of CalRHA’s lobbying team and our coalition partners, rental property owners will continue to independently determine whether they want pets in their rental units and reach mutual agreement with their tenants.
